Tai chi is an ancient Chinese mind-body practice that combines slow flowing movements, controlled breathing, and deep mental focus. Originally developed as a martial art for self-defence, it is widely practiced today as a low impact exercise often described as "meditation in motion tip"to improve balance, strength, and overall wellness.
Tai Chi is built around a series of postures or movements that transition smoothly and effortlessly into one another. It requires a practitioner to focus on maintaining a low centre of gravity, deep diaphragmatic breathing, and precise weight shifting.
This class will focus mainly on the fundamental posture - a standing meditation to align the mind and body to maintain the centre and balance of the body and to achieve relaxation and grounding. A simple 10 forms movement will be…
