About the Event
Helen Simpson is a worship leader at the Octagon Chapel in Norwich, Norfolk and writes regularly for the Inquirer. She also practices as a private therapist and runs workshops on spiritual well-being. Last but not least, Helen is a stand-up comedian. She acknowledges it is not easy being a human and hopes her art and humour bring fun to our journey of figuring it all out.
In this workshop, Helen will delve into the fact that as Unitarians, we do not have a set of faith-based rules by which to live. No one will tell us how to behave or what to believe. To live a rich and meaningful life we need to follow our hearts’ deepest desires. How do we want to behave as a friend or as a Unitarian? What is important to us in our work or leisure time? What characteristics do we want to bring to our roles? Is it kindness, or is good organisation more important to us?
This 2-hour workshop will help us identify our values in different aspects of life. Using techniques from her 30 years' work within the NHS and this year with Unitarian ministers at the GA, Helen will gently guide you to discover what makes life meaningful for you.
