Summer Renovation Update

Updated: 5 days ago

Update5

18.8.2026

There’s lots of exciting news to share on the chapel works!

The first phase of the project is now complete, with the new heating system up and running, the chapel beautifully painted, and the underfloor prepared ready for the new carpet to be installed.

The hearing loop has also now been installed, which is another important step towards making the chapel as welcoming and accessible as possible.

And the big transformation is happening this week: the beautiful new carpet is going in! I — it’s going to look seriously stunning.

Finally, the AV equipment will be going back into the chapel over the next few days, bringing us another step closer to having everything finished and ready to enjoy.

It’s wonderful to see the chapel coming together — and we can’t wait to show you the finished result!

Update 4.

3.8.2026

We're now about halfway through the project, and things are really starting to take shape at the Chapel.

It's great to see just how much progress has been made. All of the radiator pipework has now been installed, the floor channels have been closed up, and the chapel walls have been freshly painted. It's exciting to see the building beginning to come together, with each stage bringing us a little closer to the finished result.

It's week 3 of the refurbishments and there's been plenty of activity at the Chapel since last weeks update. While the work had centred on preparation, we are now in full flow of the actual rennovations.

The most noticeable changes are the ceiling which is currently being treated and parts of the floor which have now been carefully lifted in readiness for the installation of the new radiator pipes.

The site has been buzzing with activity with teams working from the scaffolding towers and others getting ready to start work on the opposite side of the church. It's fantastic to see so much progress being made.

Summer renovation and relocation update 2

18/07/2026

We are now nearing the and of the second week of our refurbishment and the chapel has been buzzing with activity.

Contractors have been coming and going, scaffolding has steadily risen into place and a skip has been deposited outside. These are clear signs that the hard work is well underway. Even though much of what we're seeing at the moment is preparation, these essential first steps are laying the groundwork for the installation of our new system. It's exciting to see this project gathering momentum as every delivery, every piece of scaffolding and every busy day brings us one step closer to the next stage of the refurbishment and getting back inside our beautiful Chapel.

Thank you for your patience. We'll keep sharing updates as the project continues, so do watch this space for the latest developments

Summer renovation and relocation update 1

Work on the Chapel's new heating system started this week. The carpet was taken up for the floor to be inspected and the organ was covered in plastic to protect it from the dust. The beloved Steinway piano is having a spa holiday during the summer.

Services and events continue in Rosslyn Hall, next to the Chapel building, during July and August. Please note that the Hall is unfortunately not step-free, with several stone steps up in order to gain access. Download Open Mind [add link] to see the full summer programme of events.

We will endeavour to update this page regularly so check back in the future for more news on the project!
