On September 21st, a Saturday afternoon, several artists put on show their artwork on

Seasons and Spirituality. It was fantastic to see them coming together in a collective and what this can provide for the community. There were paintings and prints, embroidery, poetry and even some digital art. Brian warmly greeted people coming and going and we had just over a hundred visitors of all different ages, some who had never stepped inside the Chapel before. It gave reflection on nature and animals and with a calm backdrop of music visitors were able to look at the art and process and share their thoughts and feelings. One visitor even wrote a poem during their visit. Another said:
“This is great, we need more of this in our busy lives, I feel really connected!”

Several ideas came out of this such as art shows or craft fairs for the future. Perhaps even incorporating some younger artists as some of the visitors were in their late teens and early twenties, a section of the community that Rosslyn Hill could reach out to. On Sunday’s children’s chapel we read a story about celebrating community through painting a wall. And it was something that really appealed to the hearts of the children, who said, “Let’s do this!” So, watch this space!
